Our house

The Pinzgau Women’s Refuge Centre is an autonomous and independent women’s refuge organized  as a non-profit organisation.

In 1997 the first apartment was leased to offer protection and accommodation to women and children who experienced violence. Half a year later, on the 18th May 1998 the Women’s Refuge Centre was officially opened. After that in July 1998 the women’s emergency hotline came to life, so that admission to the women’s refuge centre was guaranteed 24/7.

13 years onwards the Pinzgau Women’s Refuge Centre is an established and recognized facility in Pinzgau. Since the founding until the end of 2010 the women’s refuge has offered protection and help to 304 women and 314 children. In the same period 848 women accepted medical help. On top of that more than 5500 emergency calls were received.
